We specialise in all things sound. Doing our best to make sure everyone who comes to watch your show has the same great experience.

Expertise and Skills

With extensive experience in the technical requirements of putting on a show, we are able to provide top class advice on how to deliver the very best results to enhance your passengers’ experience. Our experts are also adept at assisting with the transition of production shows and making sure those shows are kept consistent, whether that’s from show to show, land to ship, ship to ship or a simple cast change over.

Show Consistency

Show consistency is something we strive to ensure is never a problem, if that’s show to show, ship to ship or cast to cast. We want to make sure every one of your guests sees the production show that was designed and it is to the highest standard. Therefore we offer consistent show consultancy which means that one of our experts will work with you, your technical and production teams on making sure every show, looks, sounds and feels the same. This includes equipment recommendations to get the most out of automation for sound, lighting and video as well as basic and advanced training courses for technical crew and performers.

Ship-wide Broadcast

Ship wide broadcast using an IPTV system in staterooms and other screens / projectors around the ship is likely to be made use of far more now as large crowd gatherings need to be kept to a minimum therefore needing to put the same event or show on in multiple locations at the same time. Also if any guests do get ill and confined to their rooms you want to be able to keep them entertained throughout the day. While it has become somewhat of an industry standard amongst cruise ships to use an IPTV system with satellite TV and possibly recording the odd bit onboard to broadcast, using the system to stream live shows and events from around the ship is not regular practice. However this is something that can really improve the guest experience and it doesn’t necessarily involve needing lots of extra people, more often than not a few extra bits of kit, some training and possibly a member of broadcast staff if you do not have one already, and that may well be enough to cover your requirements.

Here at What I Call Productions do think this is part of the bigger picture of getting cruise ships running again as soon as possible as not only does it make sure guest entertainment can still happen but it possibly means guests have the choice of seeing the show or event in the venue or from the comfort of their stateroom which could well be a big factor for guests choosing which cruises to go on.

Training and Progression

We can offer training your technical entertainment staff. This includes putting processes in place so that all of your staff feel confident to operate the latest in sound, lighting, video and broadcast technology. We are also able to offer your staff a single point of contact, for technical support for your fleet of vessels.

Show Production

We are able to assist with everything from over the phone consultancy to sending someone onboard to run an element of shows all the way to creatives helping you to design the shows and give them that wow factor. We want every guest leaving your shows to think it’s as good as or better than anything they could have paid to see in the West End or Broadway, and to top it off they saw it at sea! Sound, Lighting, Video, Stage Management or Broadcast we are sure we can help you make the shows stunning.
